reraise, or a hard eight?

[info]jpmassar points out this article, in which we learn that Obama plays poker, which McCain plays craps.

The article interviews Andy Bloch and Doyle Brunson:
Mr Brunson, twice world champion, said he could not back Senator McCain because the Republicans supported the American ban on internet gambling. Senator Obama has said he would like to regulate online poker and gambling, rather than criminalise it.

"Poker players have to support Obama," Mr Brunson said. "God help the internet gambling business if McCain does happen to win."
I'm not necessarily sure that I'm quite ready to pick my president based on their gambling habits... but damn, I'd much rather have a good poker player than any kind of craps player.

From the article: Senator Obama's Republican rival, John McCain, is a dedicated gambler who plays 14-hour sessions at the craps table. Senator McCain has enjoyed the camaraderie and the thrill of chance in the dice game - in which players bet on the outcome of a throw - since his days as a naval pilot. He is said to wager thousands of dollars a session, and aides reportedly had a job keeping him from the tables during a campaign stop in Las Vegas.

14 hour sessions at the craps table? Sounds more like Senator Cloutier, except he's Canadian.

I think you might be wrong here. A poker player is someone trained to lie who you can never trust. A craps player is a fearless team player.

And as an added bonus, his ability to bet the darkside might keep any enemy in check.
